When your childhood hero is reduced to a shell of the person you knew, the first step is to gain strength by returning in your mind to the halcyon days of youth. Back to the sand dunes in the sun. From there, you make it up as you go, often unsuccessfully. And no greater can the despair be, than blowing with all your breath to re-inflate a sail and failing. You keep trying, holding on, or up if you are capable, nothing else to do.
lyrics
WIND IN YOUR SAIL
Remember stretching, in the sand
When all you wanted, was close to hand
The summer evening, the big brass band
In the playground, in my childhood in the sun
In the sun, in the sun
I see you crying, centred deep
A secret pain there, you try to keep
I cannot reach you, I need to leap
'Cross the years, to your childhood in the sun
In the sun, in the sun
Holding you up now, wind in your sail
Holding you up now, friend who won't fail
Holding you up, and I'm hoping
You'll come down again, you'll calm down again
You'll come down again, you'll come down
You make it hard now, to get through
There's only one road, to pursue
In life persistence is the clue
To the learning, as in childhood in the sun
In the sun, in the sun
Holding you up now, wind in your sail
Holding you up now, friend who won't fail
Holding you up, and I'm hoping
You'll come down again, you'll calm down again
You'll come down again, you'll come down
Wind in your sail, friend who won't fail
Wind in your sail, friend who won't fail
Wind in your sail, friend who won't fail
Wind in your sail, friend who won't fail
Wind in your sail, friend who won't fail
Wind in your sail, friend who won't fail
