They say the recurring dream is an important window into a person's make-up. Always seaching for someone, usually a woman, but often in a hopelessly chaotic situation such as a major-league party (been to a few), festival or large gathering of one sort or another. And usually the planned rendezvous is overlaid with some sigificant task that has been entrusted for execution by people respected and/or powerful. Despite consistently making the rendezvous point and simultaneously trying to meet the demands of the quest, the arrival at this key moment in the sequence is aways fractionally late - and the quest goes on (and on).
lyrics
RECURRENCE (SKIN & BONES)
I'm in circles, running circles
I'm in circles within time
Endless sequence, so frustrating
All is shifting and the thread is fine
You can find me, by the water
Near the fountain of your youth
Don't deny me, if I've caught her
On the mountain speaking truth
You'll be waiting, ever-waiting
You'll be waiting for all time
I'll be searching, ever-searching
Always searching for a sign
Then I'll glimpse you, through the doorway
Down the corridor I run
In a room there, on the floor lay
Your 'kerchief in a shaft of sun
Take the water down the valley, to the graveyard, wash the stones
Heaven help you, if you dally, they will have you skin and bones
And the dream goes on, goes round and round
I know my role and I have to lose
The thread runs through, a soulful sound
I rendezvous but the object moves away
I rendezvous but the object moves away
'Cross the river, my destination
I need to swim, but the current's strong
Paralyzed, procrastination
The moon rides high, night wears on
So many times I've tried and blundered
On this quest that I've begun
I am frightened, crashing thunder
Don't be angry if I run
Take the message to our leaders, every hope depends on you
We believe that you can free us, God knows we believe in you
Take the water down the valley, to the graveyard, wash the stones
Heaven help you, if you dally, they will have you skin and bones
And the dream goes on, goes round and round
I know my role and I have to lose
The thread runs through, a soulful sound
I rendezvous but the object moves away
I rendezvous but the object moves away
I rendezvous but the object moves away
